Regas (Regasification) and Pressure Control Systems

LNG regas unit, gas metering and pressure reduction station

What Is Regas? Regasification and Gas Metering Stations

Regas (regasification) is the controlled heating of liquefied gases (LNG, LPG, liquid CO₂, nitrogen, oxygen, argon) to convert them from liquid to gas phase and bring them to the appropriate pressure and flow rate for grid or process use. At Akce Engineering, we deliver vaporizers, pressure reduction and metering stations, and gas control equipment as a single integrated system — including engineering, manufacturing, and commissioning — on a turnkey basis.

Regas and Pressure Control System Components:

  • Vaporizers: Atmospheric (ambient air) or Water Bath type for converting liquefied gas to gas phase.
  • Pressure Reduction Station: Safe transition from high pressure to process/grid pressure; pilot-controlled regulators.
  • Gas Metering Station: Flow measurement, temperature/pressure compensation, meters and data logging (EN 12186 / EN 12279 compliant).
  • Safety and Filtration: Shut-off (SAV) and relief valves, filter/separator, rupture disc; ATEX and CE compliant equipment.
  • Automation / SCADA: Remote monitoring, alarms, and data acquisition for full control.

Applications: LNG satellite stations, natural gas supply for industrial facilities, LPG vaporisation plants, cryogenic gas distribution points, power plants, and cogeneration.

Exact design is determined by gas type, flow rate, inlet/outlet pressure, and site conditions. Fill in the form below and our engineers will price a solution tailored to your needs.

Where We Build Regas Systems

The same equipment family answers a different need at every plant. Below are the places regas and pressure control systems are installed most often.

LNG Satellite Stations

Grid-quality gas supply through LNG storage, vaporisation and pressure reduction in areas with no natural gas network.

Industrial Plant Gas Supply

Metered pressure reduction stations for the uninterrupted natural gas demand of furnaces, boilers and process lines.

LPG Vaporisation Plants

Controlled vaporisation of liquid LPG and delivery at process pressure, together with filling and storage facilities.

Cryogenic Gas Distribution Points

Feeding LIN, LOX and LAr tanks to the point of use in gas phase and at constant pressure.

Power Plants and Cogeneration

Metering and pressure control sets for the inlet pressure and flow of gas turbines and engines.

Medical Oxygen Lines

Continuous supply from a liquid oxygen tank to the hospital gas line through vaporisation and pressure reduction.

Food and Beverage CO₂ Lines

CO₂ storage, vaporisation and point-of-use pressure control for carbonation and packaging.

Steel and ASU Plants

In-plant distribution of air separation products; metering and regulation at high flow.

Modular Skid Delivery

Regas skids assembled and tested in the workshop and delivered to site in one piece, shortening site installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Buyers Ask Before a Quote

The questions purchasing and technical teams ask most often about the equipment on this page.

What information do you need for a regas quote?

Four facts are enough for a first price: gas type, required flow, inlet and outlet pressure, and the standard to apply (CE/PED or ASME). Adding site conditions and your schedule lets us settle the quote in one round.

Should I install an atmospheric or a water bath vaporiser?

An atmospheric vaporiser draws heat from ambient air and consumes no electricity or fuel, which makes it economical for intermittent, medium-flow duty. In cold climates or at continuous high flow the fins can ice up, so a water bath type is preferred. Many plants install both, one as standby.

Is the gas metering station part of the same system?

Yes. The vaporiser, pressure reduction line, filter and separator, safety equipment, the metering run with turbine or rotary meter and the SCADA integration are delivered as one system, engineering, manufacturing and commissioning included.

How are ATEX and CE compliance handled?

Equipment and instrumentation are selected to the explosive atmosphere classification, and pressure-retaining parts are designed and certified under PED 2014/68/EU. The safety chain is built from an SAV, a relief valve and, where required, a rupture disc.

What does modular skid delivery gain me?

A skid is assembled and tested in the workshop and arrives on site in one piece. Site installation time and welding work drop, commissioning is faster, and the workshop FAT makes surprises on site far less likely.
