Vacuum Pipe Manufacturing and Cryogenic Gas Transportation
Akçe Engineering – Your Reliable Solution Partner in Air Separation and Cryogenic Systems
Akçe Engineering is a company that provides engineering, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning services in the field of industrial gas production and cryogenic technologies, recognized in the sector for its reliability and high quality standards. Our company designs and establishes Air Separation Units (ASU) that separate nitrogen, oxygen and argon gases in the atmosphere by cooling them to their boiling points and separating them in liquid phase. Thus, high purity industrial gases are delivered to customers in both liquid and gas forms. For more information about industrial gas systems, click here.
- Plant design can be made starting from 500 m³/h capacity up to 84,000 m³/h capacity. Special solutions can be offered for the production of all oxygen, nitrogen and argon with a single system or only oxygen/nitrogen production.
- Products are delivered to customers at the required pressure and phase: LOX (Liquid Oxygen), GOX (Gas Oxygen), LIN (Liquid Nitrogen), GAN (Gas Nitrogen).
- The engineering process is carried out turnkey; all stages of feasibility, design, production, assembly and commissioning are undertaken by our company.
- Thanks to Coldbox technology, air is cooled to low temperatures and gases are separated with high purity. Cryogenic tanks from 1,000 L to 200,000 L can be used for storage.
- Reliable cryogenic solutions are provided in metallurgy, chemistry, petrochemical, healthcare, food-beverage and energy sectors.
Our Vacuum-Insulated Pipe (VIP) Systems
We design and manufacture double-walled, vacuum-insulated pipelines for transferring cryogenic liquids (LIN, LOX, LAR, LNG, LCO₂) with minimum boil-off loss. Multi-layer super-insulation (MLI) and high vacuum reduce heat ingress to a minimum.
Double-Wall Vacuum Insulation
High vacuum between inner and outer pipe halts heat transfer; low boil-off loss.
Super Insulation (MLI) + Perlite
Multi-layer reflective insulation or perlite fill to minimize radiation and conduction losses.
Phase Separator
Separates the gas phase formed in the line so that only the liquid phase reaches the point of use.
Flexible Vacuum Connections
Flexible vacuum-insulated hoses and compensators to accommodate thermal expansion.
Vacuum-Jacketed Valves & Fittings
Bayonet connections, vacuum-jacketed valves and fittings for leak-free, efficient line solutions.
Cold Box
Compact cold boxes housing cryogenic process equipment under vacuum/insulation in a single enclosure.
Cryogenic Transfer Lines
Vacuum-insulated transfer lines for LIN / LOX / LAR / LNG between tank, vaporizer and point of use.
Vacuum Measurement & Improvement
Vacuum level measurement, leak detection and re-evacuation on existing lines to restore performance.
Safety & Pressure Relief
Safety valves, rupture discs and pressure relief lines for safe cryogenic operation.
Vacuum Insulated Pipework Framework
The values below are our standard fabrication framework. If your project falls outside it, we assess it as a custom design.
What Buyers Ask Before a Quote
The questions purchasing and technical teams ask most often about the equipment on this page.
Why is vacuum insulated pipework needed — is conventional insulation not enough?
Liquid nitrogen is carried at around −196 °C and liquid oxygen at −183 °C. At those temperatures foam or wool insulation both suffers condensation and icing and fails to stop heat ingress; liquid vaporises along the line and losses grow. Vacuum stops conduction by leaving no medium to carry it.
What does super insulation (MLI) do?
Multi-layer super insulation is a stack of reflective films placed between the inner and outer pipe; it cuts the radiant heat transfer that vacuum alone cannot stop. It gives lower losses than perlite-filled solutions and is used on long runs and wherever low boil-off matters.
When is a phase separator needed?
On long transfer lines some liquid vaporises before it reaches the point of use and gas bubbles form in the line. A phase separator removes that gas so only liquid reaches the point of use, which shortens filling time and reduces losses.
Our existing line has lost vacuum — do you measure it?
Yes. Vacuum measurement, leak detection and re-evacuation are among our site services. Condensation, icing and rising boil-off are the typical signs of vacuum loss; the measurement result and the work carried out are handed over as a report.
What advantage does a bayonet connection give?
A bayonet is a two-part cryogenic connection that nests together; it can be separated and reconnected while keeping the heat bridge to a minimum. At points needing maintenance or planned equipment changes it loses far less than a flanged joint.
Are you about to build a cryogenic transfer line?
Media, line length and the number of use points are enough for a first price. Let our engineers work out the loss calculation and the routing.
